NaNoWriMo and the other random things in my life

My novel is going swimmingly now. I made some progress and got to the 15,000 word mark. I've at least got an idea where the next chapter is going, which is fabulous since I've got some major writing to do to get to the end. My husband was cracking up laughing at the scene I read to him. He was my inspiration as he sent me something random to add when I lost my writing mojo mid-afternoon. I warned him he will get a call from me if I get stuck again.

In other news, I remain as unpredictable as ever. I'm back to being normal, or at least normal for me. Good news for those who have heard too much of my verbal garbage lately. If I don't have much at all to say, don't worry. It just takes me while to get back to small talk after overdosing on self introspection and staring down the deep wells of anger within my soul.

Oh, my sinuses are bothering me. I started allergy medication as soon as I thought I might have problems, so hopefully this will head off the worst of it. After taking my Claratin this morning, I can see again, which is very important.

I'm mostly ready to start NaNo. No idea where my plot is going to take me, but at least I've got a place to begin. And I've got at least the shell of a main character.

I'm not sure why I feel the need to write an update when I just updated not too long ago, and it is not like I've been doing anything new or exciting in the past few days or what have you. But here is my update.

I'm here wishing I had more to drink. And no, not alcohol. Just a frozen coffee beverage will do. But my wallet has dust bunnies this weekend, and my fridge is empty til at least Tuesday.

My NaNo novel is now an emerging idea. I'm going with some conspiracy theories again. So if you have any, throw them at me. Also appreciated would be phobias and fears and anything else.

Writing at 3AM is going to wear me out, as if I wasn't doing enough. But I guess that is when I get inspired. I'm hoping dart night will create some inspiration. Expect me to be taking notes. Which reminds me, I might actually have some notes in my dart case. I'll have to remember to check today.

I've been feeling rather manic lately. Maybe a few people have noticed. Probably the reason I've been out and about so much. But I seem to have leveled off some. And today, I don't even feel bad about everyone else's problems. I'm overly joyful about my own life.

TOPIC CHANGE

I have an aquaintance who puzzles me. (If you think I'm talking about you, let me assure you I'm not.) I don't get any 'vibes' whatsoever from this person. Nothing, nada. No good, no bad, just brick wall. I can usually get some sort of idea if I like a person or dislike a person, but I get nothing. I'm so intrigued.

Jay said yes. Most people who read this will have no clue what I'm talking about, but feel free to use your imagination and come up with something that you find interesting as a way to amuse yourself. It's more interesting that way. I'll just keep smiling and everyone can wonder what I am up to.

I was reading the newspaper Saturday morning. I glanced through the obituaries because you never know if you'll know someone. And this time I did. My uncle died Thursday. I was at calling hours earlier today. Then I had dinner with family. The funeral is tomorrow.

Library cards. Akron, Barberton, Columbus, North Canton (though this one needs renewed), and I'll probably pick up Cuyahoga Falls. Why can't they all have the same resources???

I finally dragged myself to the remodeled Kenmore branch. It's nice to have a library with decent parking nearby. The Main library in Akron keeps me at bay because of the parking garage. I'm also cheap and don't want to pay for parking. You only get an hour free, and if the lot is busy, you could spend almost that long circling like a vulture for someone to leave. That is if you keep from turning into a dead end. Dead ends in parking garages are not good ideas.

I got the VCR hooked up to the TV. I discovered color coding is great unless the colors are wrong. It seems like I switched subjects randomly, but I got a video for Gregory from the library. So the library was my motivation to stop being technically backwards.

Oh rum, how I have missed you. Sundays were just not the same without you. Monday nights work so much better. I think I even have my teammate talked into coming back to the home bar for the free team drink next week.

My dart team won 8-5! It sooo helps having those good players on the team. Looking forward to next week.

I want to have white hair when I grow old. Then you can call me Talon2Claw the White. Although I wouldn't want to wear the long, white robes. I can't imagine trying to keep those sparkling clean. (I'm spending too much time watching TNT today.)

I got a call from my nephew today. At first I thought he was asking about scotch tape and wool. What kind of art project is he doing? Then it dawns on me, he wants to know how to start a roll of packing tape. I could hear both his parents in the background. I told him to thread the tape under the tabs. He told his dad. I guess I actually helped.

Pop tarts are on sale at ACME for $1 a box.

I spent half the day shopping and we are ordering pizza for dinner. At least I don't have to cook.

Technical problems

So it begins. OHDELA is having technical problems and the school year has yet to even begin. It took nearly 45 minutes to get my son's computer up and running (seriously, updates out the ying yang, installing new version of java, and waiting for the wimba web site to load after running the initial setup wizard). Then, due to technical difficulties, no class. Ha, ha, ha. And considering nothing was posted on their 'if you miss a class watch it here' page, I'm assuming yesterday went just as well. So I guess I'm waiting until next week to even attempt it again.

I'm thinking maybe OHDELA should have made a test run with ANGEL and Wimba before scheduling classes that they claim are manditory. I have seriously never dealt with a bigger group of clueless people. No one knows what is going on there. They make up all these deadlines and then students/parents can't access the classes to meet the deadlines. Sigh.

Well, at least I don't have to worry about it until next week. Or, knowing OHDELA, 2-4 weeks after the school year officially starts.
